April 10, 2021, 8:00 am – 10:00 am
Members Photography Morning
Members only. Advance Registration Required.
Members enjoy exclusive access to photograph parts of the penitentiary in the early morning light before the site opens to visitors at 10:00 am. Grab a camera and capture the haunting beauty of Eastern State’s crumbling cellblocks. Then, share those photos on Instagram with #ESPMember. We'll share some of our favorites on our website, eNewsletter, and social media.
Bring your tripod! Normally, due to COVID-19 restrictions, tripods are not permitted during public tour hours, and visitors must follow a one-way path from audio stops 1-10. For Members Photography Morning, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, these two restrictions are suspended. Photographers can use tripods and explore all open areas of the penitentiary freely as long as they stay six feet apart and wear a mask at all times.
Areas open for the event will include the East Drive, the Death Row Courtyard, Cellblock 3 (the Hospital Block), Cellblock 15 (Death Row), Center (including the Cellblock 7 gallery), and Cellblocks 11, 2, and 10.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Participants will be asked to sign this document acknowledging that they’ve read and will abide by our photography policies. To save time at check-in, please feel free to print and sign the document at home, bring it with you, and present it at arrival.
This is a members-only event, free for all members. Not a Member? Join today!
