Family Field Trip: Resilience & Pets
Included with standard admission, subject to availability.
On the second Sunday of every month at 11:30 am, join Eastern State's education team for a journey through the history of creativity at the penitentiary.
This month, think about the ways people, including people in prison, can build resilience. Learn more about animals and how they can change lives inside and outside of prison walls through therapy and specialty dog training programs. Then, make your own tiny animal “pocket pal” that can help you when you’re feeling anxious or lonely.
Family Field Trips are open to all, but are designed with children ages 8-13 and their caregivers in mind. This program lasts 45 minutes. Family Field Trips are included with standard admission to the historic site, subject to availability. Daytime tour tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the door. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time, and ask a staff member to direct you to the meeting point.
