Member Saturday: Museums | Hubs for Change and Workforce Development

November 19, 2022, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Member Saturday: Museums | Hubs for Change and Workforce Development

Members only. Registration required. Virtual.

As a proud fair chance employer, Eastern State is committed to providing job opportunities for previously incarcerated people, and we are not alone. Three museums located in major cities across the nation – Eastern State, The Broad in Los Angeles, and the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. – have all developed groundbreaking programs to engage and train formerly incarcerated adults (returning citizens) in museum-related professions. How can we continue to support equitable access to employment and also address the needs of a community that has often been excluded from the museum field?

Staff from Eastern State, the Broad, and the Smithsonian discuss their journeys in creating a more equitable space for returning citizens, the results of these programs, and how we can all strive to build more just institutions in our own lives.

This event is free for all members. Reserve free tickets online or call 215-236-5111 x224.
