Eastern State Penitentiary offers an organizational membership for libraries that would like to allow their patrons to “check-out” a visit to our historic site.
What You Receive
Library Museum Passes may be borrowed and used by any active patron of your library to access free daytime admission to Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site for up to six people. The penitentiary is currently open Wednesday through Monday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are closed on Tuesdays and on the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
Admission includes —
- “The Voices of Eastern State" Audio Tour (narrated by actor Steve Buscemi),
- Hands-On History experiences,
- critically-acclaimed artist installations,
- and award-winning exhibits.
- Eastern State Penitentiary and Prisons Today,
- Organized Crime: Prohibition Era,
- and Prison Architecture Then and Now.
Library Museum Passes cannot be used to receive any other member benefits. Library Museum Passes are not valid for Halloween Nights at Eastern State Penitentiary, Night Tours, discounts, special events or facility rentals. Eastern State’s programming is best enjoyed by children ages seven and older. Admission is complimentary for children under seven years old.

Library Museum Passes are $199. They are valid for one year after date of purchase and can be renewed annually.
