Eastern State Penitentiary offers an organizational membership for libraries that would like to allow their patrons to “check-out” a visit to our historic site.
What You Receive
Library Museum Passes may be borrowed and used by any active patron of your library to access free daytime historic tour admission to Eastern State for up to six people. The penitentiary is currently open for daytime tours Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Admission includes “The Voices of Eastern State" Audio Tour, narrated by actor Steve Buscemi; our award winning exhibits on mass incarceration, The Big Graph and Prisons Today; history exhibits; and a critically acclaimed series of artist installations.
Library Museum Passes cannot be used to receive any other member benefits. Library Museum Passes are not valid for Halloween Nights at Eastern State Penitentiary, Night Tours, discounts, special events or facility rentals. Eastern State’s programming is best enjoyed by children ages seven and older. Admission is complimentary for children under seven years old.
The health and safety of our staff and visitors is our top priority. Patrons wishing to use a Library Museum Pass should review our Health and Safety page before they visit for the latest on our protocols and current hours of operation.
Because we recognize that not all patrons are willing or able to visit in person right now, we are offering one complimentary virtual group tour with every Library Museum Pass purchased. Email [email protected] to book.
Details and How to Apply
Library Museum Passes are $199. They are valid for one year after date of purchase and can be renewed annually. Lost cards will be replaced once for free. Subsequent cards will be issued for a $25 fee.
