Sean Kelley, Senior Vice President, Director of Interpretation and Public Programming
Sean Kelley was hired as the historic site’s first full-time employee in 1995. In 1997, Sean re-branded Eastern State’s Halloween event Terror Behind the Walls and introduced a revolutionary timed ticketing system. Eastern State’s ticketing system continues to be the model for haunted attractions around the country. Sean has spoken about Eastern State Penitentiary and the haunted attraction industry dozens of times, including interviews on CNN, the History Channel, the Travel Channel, The Montel Williams Show, and the Today Show. Sean also trains tour guides at the historic site.

Brett Bertolino, Vice President, Director of Operations
Brett Bertolino joined the Eastern State staff in 2000. Brett serves on the Board of the Haunted Attraction Association (HAA). In 2011 he was honored with the HAA’s President’s Award for his decade of service to the haunted house industry. In addition, he has led seminars on operations, ticketing and marketing at various tradeshows including the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, Transworld’s National Halloween and Attractions Show, and the American Association of Museums. Brett oversees operations for both Terror Behind the Walls and Eastern State’s daytime tour program.

Amy Hollaman, Creative Director
Amy Hollaman joined Terror Behind the Walls as an actress in 2005 and is currently in her fifth year as creative director. Amy oversees casting, creative direction, stage management, and human resources for the 300-person cast. Year-round she works as the historic site’s assistant director of events and operations, planning and producing such events as Bastille Day, Party at the Pen: The Masquerade, and Brewery Ommegang’s Game of Thrones® beer launch party. As an established leader in the haunted attraction industry, Amy teaches seminars and workshops on safety, operations, and theatrical training at Transworld’s National Halloween and Attractions Show, the State of Pennsylvania Attraction Safety Seminar, The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, and other haunted houses around the country.

James Travis III, Technical Director
James Travis III joined Terror Behind the Walls in 2007 and now oversees its design and construction. As a fabricator, mechanic, and engineer, his career has taken him all the way to Antarctica and the South Pole. He helped film a five-month time-lapse sequence for BBC’s Frozen Planet, and his world-record-breaking Rube Goldberg Machine was featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live and the Today Show. James’s unique background stimulates the creation of custom-designed scenes, animatronics, and other props for the haunted attraction.

Lauren Palmer, Makeup Director
Lauren Palmer joined Terror Behind the Walls as a makeup artist in 2006 and moved into the role of makeup director in 2012. As a certified makeup artist and licensed cosmetologist, Lauren has experience in film, television, photography, commercials, fashion, live event, bridal, and salon and spas. She specializes in film and fashion makeup, airbrushing, special effects and mold making. Lauren’s work has been seen on New York runways, in films, in magazines, and on the stage. Lauren and her team custom design and produce most of the prosthetics seen in the show.

Alisa Sickora Kleckner, Costume and Props Director
Alisa Sickora Kleckner joined Terror Behind the Walls in 2016, bringing with her more than 15 years of experience as a professional costume, mask, and puppet designer. As owner of a leather mask and costuming company, she has been engineering unique looks for the haunted attraction industry for many years. Alisa is an educator and an innovator, continuously expanding the boundaries of scare theatricality and audience immersion.

Jenny Tomczak, Director of Interactivity
Jenny Tomczak joined Terror Behind the Walls as an actress in 2004. As the new Director of Interactivity, she focuses on amplifying the immersive nature of the visitor experience. Jenny leverages 13 years of acting and operations management at Terror Behind the Walls and other innovative productions, including Universal Pictures’ THE PURGE: BREAKOUT immersive escape game experience. Jenny is studied in the art of interactivity and strives to design experiences that pull guests into a story they will never want to forget.
