Kids love to explore Eastern State!
Kids are fascinated by the massive cellblocks, dark cells, and stories of inmate lives and escapes at Eastern State Penitentiary. It's one of the most popular stops for families visiting Philadelphia!
The admission price for kids ages 7-12 includes an educational Kids' Guide booklet ("Eastern State Challenge," pictured below) that includes a scavenger hunt, games, and a take-home poster of Pep the Dog.
There are special Hands-On History guided tours on various subjects available several times a day. These tours are interactive experiences, designed for visitors age seven (7) and up. Please see our Hands-On History page for tour times and descriptions.
Our "Voices of Eastern State" audio tour is recommended for visitors age 12 and up.
All tour options are included with admission. The historic site is not recommended for children under the age of seven (7).
