Begin by downloading the latest version of Apple's QuickTime, for free.

Then follow the links to explore the abandoned Penitentiary. Each stop is about 220 K. About a minute or less to download on most modems.

Once you have loaded a stop on the tour, click and hold within the QTVR image. Moving the mouse will make the perspective rotate, allowing you to see completely around you. Zoom in and out with the control and shift keys or by clicking on the maginfiying lens images on the bottom of each panarama.
