Eastern State Penitentiary's Terror Behind the Walls is seeking a Costume Shop Intern for the fall season. This intern will work in a professional, Hollywood-quality costume shop that outfits more than 200 performers every show night.
The Costume Shop Intern will work on specified show nights under the guidance of the Costume Director and in association with the Assistant Costumers. Interns are expected to participate in stock maintenance and nightly distribution. The internship comprises an introduction to tailoring/stage mending, proper laundering techniques, learning how to manage stock, as well as prop care and distribution. Skills in sewing and construction preferred, as well as an understanding of costume history and terminology.
This internship is unpaid but can be used for college course credits.
All staff and interns must be 18 years old or older and must pass a background check. Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
